On a daily basis, most of us are struck by a situation in which we have to prepare ourselves for a "fight or flight" mode. And most of the times people tend to engage in a fight with us.So to protect ourselves from these circumstances we learn self defence.
Before coming to it we must understand that we should ignore violence but at times we must use these techniques to preserve ourselves from the annihilating situations. Our body also defend us from the harmful microorganisms.
So the main purpose of defending ourselves is self protection and self preservation from external harmful situations.

Some Basic Techniques To Get Rid Of A Common Grab Or Attack
Hand Grab:
To break a hand grab, first should see which hand is grabbed.
- When attacker's hand is opposite of your hand, turn your wrist and grab his hand. Then kick on his knee and pull him towards you. This will let him fall to the ground.
- When both attacker's and your hand is same, then turn your hand from the elbow upside. Grab his hand with the other hand and pull him down.
- If attacker holds your both hand, kick his groins which will have a great impact on him.
Neck Grab:
- When any attacker holds your front part of the neck, simply grab his hand near the wrist from upside and elbow from downside. Then twist his hand so that your elbow comes up. After that kick on his belly.
- When any attacker gives you a rear neck lock, then accordind to jiu jitsu, put your fingers between the space of your neck and the hand. Pull it down and put a leg behind. turn 180 degrees, pulling him down to the ground. For a knife attack, techniques is same but reflexes are faster.
Punch On Face And Belly:
- When the attacker puches on face, bend your hand and take it towards your face to defend punch. Then hurt his any vulnerable part to take him to ground.
- When the attacker tries to punch you on your belly, just bend and put your elbow in front of the belly and palm on your face. Then after defending hit his vulnerable parts.
Kicks:
When an attacker tries to kick you, notice his leg action and grab his leg before hitting. Then hurt his knee or kick on his groins.
Gun put on face:
When someone puts gun on your head, with a fast reflex, bend down and grab the attacker's gun. Then kick his groins and hit belly with your hand. After that go run away from him. This all must be a sudden action.
Conclusion
All the techniques need a fast reflex action so practising these techniques is very important.
It is not necessary that the procedure should be same. We can change the procedure. But keeping in mind that the we must hit the vulnerable areas.
